1 Project Definition
It is essential to find the right definition for the project or of the order you are about to carry out. IRC‘s machinery is based on ‘best performance at best price’ in order to meet and exceed the customers’ expectations. For standard products the process is already laid out. It is when faced with special orders that IRC‘s professionalism is proved. This is also when the importance of customer collaboration and non-failure production is appreciated in order to deliver added value.
2 Raw Materials
Once the order is defined, the raw material is controlled upon reception, whether it is Polyamide, Polyethylene, Polyester or Polypropylene. The R+D+I laboratory controls the quality through physical and chemical tests in order to verify the characteristics and guarantee the origin. The production of the twine cannot begin until this first control have taken place.
3 Rope and Twine Production
The twine spools go through a complex manufacturing process. Depending on the purpose, the rope can be either twisted or braided. For this purpose, IRC has the most sophisticated twisting machines and braiders on the market with the Herzog Braiders offering the best technological guarantee. IRC‘s production guarantees the supervision of the final quality and compliance with delivery terms. Before making nets in the looms, twine spools are retested at the R+D+I laboratory, where they are subject to chemical and physical-mechanical tests, using a new-generation dynamometer.
4 Making the Nets
When the twine spools have been quality-tested, they are ready to use in the looms. A further quality control depends on the combination of the machinery’s technological performance and the attention needed by the loom operators. This combination is a determining factor in the optimisation of the material as well as in the guarantee of a perfect finish with the right meshes and knots. When leaving the loom, the net is checked by an expert group, capable of detecting any kind of failure, before its further introduction into the heat setting autoclave.
5 Supervision and Check-up
The supervision and check-ups are carried out manually. On one hand, this means an extra effort, but on the other, it inspires the client or end-user with confidence and trust. This step is situated on the IRC Quality Map’s equator. The success of the automated processes depends, to great extent, on the staff’s professionalism, because this can avoid future problems which are difficult to resolve. Once heat set, the net is examined, packed and delivered to the final destination.
6 The Heat Setting Autoclave
IRC‘s new-generation autoclave represents one of it’s clear competitive advantages, especially in relation to the old methods that are still being used. When the net has been checked after coming out of the loom, it is exposed to a process that optimises its properties and qualities through an ideal set of pressure and heat, perfect for the type of fiber and final usage.
This process is one of IRC‘s most rigid quality controls. Nevertheless, when finished the stretching in the autoclave, the net is checked again in the R+D+I laboratory.
After the heat setting in the autoclave, the nets enter the final stages before delivery. First, a correct handling. The wide dimensions of the nets, specially fishing or horizontal safety nets require a critical confection that provides the end-user with the best facilities.
The packing reinforces the previous step. Effort is made to select a simple and straight-forward transport to avoid any damage on the nets.
9 Immediate Delivery Service
The delivery of the order is the visualization of the IRC‘s services. Apart from product quality, the Immediate Delivery Service is one of the factors that IRC‘s customers appreciate the most. The 24 hour service is already a reality within standard safety and sports products. Nevertheless, IRC delivery of custom-designed products, being fishing, safety or sports products, is still the quickest on the European market.
